Partial coverage tips - Unlike full coverage tips, partial coverage tips do not cover the entire nail surface. Instead, they are made to cover only part of the natural nails, allowing for tailored customization and more natural fit, especially at the base area. Partial coverage tips can come as half well, full well, or well-less and only provide length, requiring product for structure and support. For tip extension length that is longer than half of the natural nail, acrylic or hard gel should be used to provide enough durability to support longer length. For tip extension length that is no longer than ⅓ of the natural nail, structure can be sculpted using a hard, semi-hard, or soft builder gel based on the needs of the wear.
Half well tips - have a contact area called a “well” where the tip adheres to the natural nail. It is a shallow indentation on the underside of the tip that helps position the tip over the natural nail during application and typically covers about ⅓ of the natural nail. It can be adhered with glue or tip application gel and requires blending to smooth the seam.

Well-less tips - do not have a well or indentation on the underside of the tip to position it over the natural nail during application. It is a partial cover tip that can be custom tailored and applied as needed depending on the natural nail condition, length, and need. This allows more flexibility in application for gel extensions customized to the needs of the natural nail.

2. Transparency, Color, and Texture
Transparent tips - Transparent tips are nail tips that come clear and smooth such as Viewgel T305 tips. Most nail tips come transparent and smooth as the standard and may likely require sanding the backside for better, longer-lasting adhesion to the natural nail. Half Sanded tips - Half sanded tips like Viewgel T306 tips come with a sanded or textured base. When applying full coverage gel tips, a textured surface allows for better adhesion as the gel has something to grip and bond onto while hardening during the curing process. 3. Apex

Full coverage tips come preshaped with a lower apex with less of a c-curve for a more natural look.
Higher apex (sculpted)
