Embossed or 3D chrome powder details can transform your nail designs, adding visual interest and a tactile experience. While 3D chrome details can look like nail parts or charms, they might actually be better because you can create your own custom “parts” right on the nail. Since they’re made of gel, they also stay intact to the nails more securely than nail parts or charms. In this tutorial, we’ll show you three different ways you can create 3D chrome powder details.
When it comes to nail powders, a non-wipe gel is always required for a smooth and shiny finish. Using gel that cures with an inhibition layer will result in a grainy and dull effect. For isolated 3D chrome details, it’s also important to use a powder-resistant matte gel to protect the surface in areas of unwanted powder.
Full Nail 3D Powder
Create 3D powder details on a full nail.
Apply base coat and two coats of Yogurt Gel syrup #03, curing between each layer. Next, use a liner brush to apply dollops or thick lines of JIN.B Crazy Top Gel Thick on the surface of the nail, creating your desired design. Cure for 60 seconds.

Next, apply one coat of Doi non-wipe top gel over the entire nail. Cure for 30 seconds.
Use a sponge applicator to dab a small amount of Jello Jello Edge Beam Mermaid Powder and rub it onto the surface of the nail to achieve a smooth shiny finish. Dust off excess powder.

Apply a medium viscosity top gel. Cure for 60 seconds.
