Fixing a Cracked Nail
Sometimes, a crack can occur at the stress point of a nail, where the free edge meets the nail bed. If the crack is less than half way across the nail, patching the cracked area with Fixee Gel can help support the nail, preventing further tearing. If the crack is more than halfway across the nail, it is probably best to trim the nail at the cracked area and rebuild the free edge with a gel extension.

Things You’ll Need:

Square or Round Gel Application Brush
Nail Form 
Nail Buffer

Step 1 - Remove old product from the nail. Please be careful around the damaged nail area.

Step 2 - Buff the nail to remove shine and cleanse the nail using nail cleanser or alcohol wipe. 

Step 3 - Apply a nail form underneath the nail for more support during gel application to make sure the nail is leveled on both sides of the cracked area.

Step 4 - Using a gel application brush, pick up a medium size bead of Fixee Gel and apply it to the cracked area. Fixee Gel can be applied directly to the natural nail without primer or base gel. Cure in LED for 30-60 seconds or in UV for 60-120 seconds. Fixee Gel should be applied so that it is slightly thicker than natural nail to prevent further cracking or breakage. Apply in thin layers if needed while curing between each layer to achieve a thicker patch.

Step 5 - After curing, wipe the nail with cleanser to remove the inhibition layer.

Step 6 - Buff the hardened Fixee Gel to achieve a smooth and even surface with the nail. 

Step 7 - Apply base coat and proceed with nail enhancement or gel color and desired finish. 

Fixing a Broken Nail by Creating Artificial Length
If you have one or two broken nails that need to match the length of the rest of your nails, adding a gel extension is a nail fix to avoid having to cut down your nails. This method is also great for repairing chipped areas of the free edge to restore the nail for desired shape.

Step 1 - Remove old product from the nail. 

Step 2 - Prep, shape, and cleanse the nail.

Step 3 - Apply a nail form underneath the nail.

Step 4 - Using a square or round gel application brush, pick up a medium bead of Fixee Gel Natural and apply to the edge the nail, gently floating the gel to create an extension to match the other nails. Cure in LED for 30-60 seconds or in UV for 60-120 seconds. 

Step 5 - After curing, wipe the nail with cleanser to remove any uncured product.

Step 6 - Use a nail file to shape the extended nail into desired shape. Buff the surface to create a smooth and even surface.

Step 7 - Apply base coat and proceed with nail enhancement or gel color and desired finish. A gel overlay may be ideal to add support to the nail length.
