Winter Mood Nails Using The Favori Inks

Winter Mood Nails Using The Favori Inks

Create the mood of winter on your nails using The Favori Inks. Nail inks can be a fun and distinctive way to create unique nail art that reflects a theme, mood, or emotion. Not only are nail inks versatile, but they are also easy to use. The Favori, a premium Korean brand of Japanese gel paints and nail inks, offers seasonal and special collections of colors that can be used for nuance style nails.

The Favori’s fall/winter release of The Muse Ink Collection Ver. 2 features deep and muted colors that capture nature and its hues in slumber during the winter season. The colors of this collection are effective for creating moody, nostalgic, or vintage feels. Follow along as we share a tutorial on creating winter mood nails using select colors from The Favori’s The Muse Ink Collection 2.

Foundational Steps

Prior to applying gel and nail inks, prep the nails and apply base coat. Cure in a nail lamp for 60 seconds. After curing, cleanse the nails using alcohol to remove the tacky inhibition layer.

Applying Nail Inks

For nails on the thumb and ring finger, we’ll be using the color Dawn Vintage. To remove excess ink, hold the brush along the inner rim of the bottle. Apply Dawn Vintage across the nail using vertical strokes. Allow the ink to dry for about 5 seconds. Overlay the ink using a non-wipe top gel. Cure for 30 seconds. Using Jello Jello JP06 Mermaid Powder, burnish the powder on the nail to create an iridescent sheen. File the edge of the nail with a 240 grit file. Dust off excess powder. Apply top gel and cure for 60 seconds. Use The Favori Nuance Metallic Silver and Sweetie Oval Long Brush #3 to paint along the edge of the nail, creating a metallic frame. Cure for 60 seconds.

For nails on the pointer and pinky finger, we’ll be using Leaf Green, Kainda Rose, Vintage Lavender, and Dawn Vintage to create four quadrants on the nail. On the upper right quadrant of the nail, apply the color Leaf Green. On the upper left quadrant of the nail, apply Kainda Rose. On the lower left quadrant of the nail, apply Vintage Lavender. On the lower right quadrant of the nail, apply Dawn Vintage.

For the nail on the pinky finger, apply Dawn Vintage to the upper left quadrant of the nail. Apply Vintage Lavender on the upper right quadrant of the nail. Apply Kainda Rose on the lower left quadrant of the nail. Apply Leaf Green on the lower right quadrant of the nail. Allow the inks to fully dry. Next, overlay the ink with a clear gel and cure for 60 seconds. Repeat with ink color application and overlay to amplify the colors. Apply top gel. Cure for 60 seconds. Use The Favori Nuance Metallic Silver to paint a horizontal and vertical line dividing the quadrants. Cure for 60 seconds.

For the middle nail, apply Kainda Rose in a vertical stroke on the left side of the nail. Apply Dawn Vintage in a vertical stroke on the center of the nail. Apply Vintage Lavender on the right side of the nail. Allow the inks to dry. Overlay the inks using a clear gel. Cure for 60 seconds. Repeat ink application and overlay for more color intensity. Apply top gel. Cure for 60 seconds.

The result is a showcase of icy blue reflective surfaces and patchwork of subdued colors for a unique winter mood nail look.

Winter nails don’t have to resemble commonly done nail looks or traditional winter elements. With The Favori The Muse Ink Collection Ver. 2, you can create moody nails as unique as the person wearing them.
